For sale is the pictured pumice which has been cleaned and floated in water to remove other rocks and soil. You get very pure pumice only. The pumice size is approximately 1/4 to 3/4 inch in diameter. FREE SHIPPING! I have found pumice to be superior to perlite and vermeculite which tend to break down (turn to powder) and float to the top of the soil with time. Pumice is an excellent additive for soil mix. Pumice improves drainage and contributes to moisture retention. Drainage is a must for these types of plants. A good cactus/succulent soil mix should contain two to three parts drainage material to one part organic material: Good for stem succulents. Euphorbias and Haworthias both like this more freely draining mix. The majority of Cacti would do well too. Adjustments are needed for different climates. If it is colder, darker, or more humid, add more drainage. You might find 2 parts drainage to 1 parts organic to be the minimum. Plants tolerate more drainage material better than they tolerate less drainage material.
